The LS2 FF805 Thunder GP Pro is LS2’s flagship race helmet, developed for high-performance road and circuit use and worn by LS2-supported racers.
Its headline feature is the 100% Carbon 9K shell, designed to combine very low weight with high rigidity and strength. The shell is paired with a large aerodynamic racing spoiler, a wide race visor, Double-D fastening and a full competition-focused safety package.
The Thunder GP Pro is both ECE 22.06 approved and FIM homologated, making it suitable for riders who want a genuine race-specification helmet rather than simply a road helmet with sporty styling.
The Thunder GP Pro uses a Carbon 9K shell, rather than the 6K carbon used on the Thunder GP Aero.
LS2 describes the helmet as lightweight and resistant, with a 100% carbon-fibre shell developed for racing. The 9K construction is one of the key specification upgrades that distinguishes the GP Pro from the GP Aero.
For a premium product page, I would make this one of the first things the customer sees:
CARBON 9K SHELL
because it is one of the clearest reasons for choosing the GP Pro over the less expensive FF805 versions.
The major distinction of the GP Pro is its FIM homologation.
LS2 specifically describes the FF805 Thunder GP Pro as the racing helmet worn by its professional riders and lists FIM homologation as part of the helmet’s safety specification.
That makes the GP Pro a particularly strong choice for riders looking for a helmet designed with serious circuit and competition use in mind.
Alongside FIM homologation, the helmet also meets the latest ECE 22.06 motorcycle helmet standard.
Its safety specification includes:
For the UK market, LS2 UK also lists the FF805-GP Thunder GP Pro as carrying an ACU Gold Label.
The Thunder GP Pro uses a wide visor designed to maximise peripheral vision, which is especially useful when riding in a race tuck.
The visor specification includes:
The GP Pro visor is specifically ready for tear-offs, which makes it much more track focused than a normal road helmet.
Compatible tear-off films can be fitted over the visor and removed during track or race use when the visor becomes dirty or covered in debris.
LS2 specifies the Thunder GP Pro with a Pinlock 120 XLT MaxVision insert included.
That gives the helmet a high-performance anti-fog solution straight out of the box and is a strong feature to highlight prominently in the listing.
The helmet uses a traditional Double-D ring retention system.
This is the preferred fastening type for race-focused helmets because it is simple, secure and finely adjustable without the extra bulk of a micrometric buckle.
The cheek pads incorporate LS2’s Emergency Release System, intended to help trained responders remove the cheek pads more easily before taking the helmet off after an accident.
The Thunder GP Pro uses X-Static silver liner fabric combined with laser-cut foam.
LS2 lists the interior as:
The ventilation system is designed for high-speed riding and circuit use.
It includes:
The large rear spoiler is designed to improve aerodynamic stability at speed.
LS2 specifically describes the GP Pro as having a racing spoiler for maximum aerodynamics, reinforcing its position as a dedicated performance helmet rather than a general-purpose touring model.
The current LS2 specification lists three outer shell sizes:
Using multiple shell sizes helps keep the helmet more proportionate across the size range and reduces unnecessary bulk.
LS2 currently lists the FF805 Thunder GP Pro at approximately:
1280g ±50g
although LS2’s 2025/26 catalogue also shows a 1400 ±50g GP Pro figure in one comparison table, so there appears to be a discrepancy between catalogue and live product-page data.
For your GearChange product page, I would use:
Approx. 1280g ±50g
because that is the figure shown on LS2’s current dedicated GP Pro product page, but I’d avoid making the weight the central marketing claim if you want to stay completely safe across batches/markets.
LS2’s current catalogue lists the FIM version with:
Because package contents can vary by market or production batch, I would only state these as included on your product page if your UK stock actually comes with them.
The LS2 FF805 Thunder GP Pro is particularly suited to riders looking for:
